You’ll be joining a field team of 20 UK based field engineers working with our customers on a daily basis.
What You’ll Do
Technical Delivery
- Install, configure, and commission Microsoft-based IT solutions, as well as unified communications and network infrastructure, at client sites.
- Diagnose and repair faults, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all work meets company and vendor standards.
- Attend regular customer site visits, complete new delivery project work and support break fix resolution for our growing customer base across the midlands and wider area.
- Conduct site surveys, document findings, and provide detailed feedback for planning and improvement.
- Support client relocations, upgrades, and change requests.
- Keep up to date with technology and IT services in the SMB and Enterprise markets
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Service Desk and Project Teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Escalate incidents or risks promptly and clearly when additional support is required.
- Provide user handovers or basic training where appropriate.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate records, job sheets, and asset documentation.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, health and safety guidelines, and Croft’s operational processes.
- Manage tools, test equipment, and vehicle stock to ensure readiness for service.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 18 months field-based experience in IT, ideally in an MSP Setting.
- Strong understanding of IT hardware installation and maintenance (servers, switches, routers, endpoints).
- Focusing on Windows Servers (2012-2025)
- Hyper-V and ESXI management
- Solid firewall experience with at least one of the following – (Sonicwall, Watchguard, Fortinet, Draytek)
- Knowledge of enterprise grade server hardware from Dell, HPE or similar.
- Familiarity with Windows client operating systems, Microsoft 365 administration and setup (Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, MFA, SSO)
- Understanding of IP networking, VLANs, wireless deployments, also advantageous if you have a working knowledge of VoIP/UC platforms.
Education & Certifications
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g. Microsoft CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent).
- Vendor/manufacturer certifications advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence required.
