Downshall & Croft: A Bespoke Approach to School IT

Downshall Primary School is a thriving educational institution located in Ilford, Essex. The Challenge

As technology became increasingly essential to the school’s daily operations and long-term goals, Downshall Primary School recognised the need to modernise its infrastructure. The school faced several challenges, including outdated systems, limited budget and a long decision-making process.

The Solution

The Downshall and Croft collaboration began around 2018 with IT support and expanded in 2023  to include a new 3CX telephone system, a digital visitor management solution, and an overhaul of the school’s WiFi infrastructure.

While the implementation process encountered a few hurdles, Croft responded promptly and effectively to resolve issues. Regular meetings between Croft and the school leadership helped maintain open communication, allowing both parties to align on priorities and ensure smooth progress. Despite initial concerns, the transition to more remote-based support was handled with care and responsiveness, helping staff feel supported even without a constant on-site presence.

The Results

The partnership with Croft has improved the school’s technological capabilities. Staff praise the quality and speed of support, noting that Croft consistently goes the extra mile to resolve issues and provide tailored advice that balances the school’s needs with its budget.
