The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) is being switched off in January 2027.
How will the PSTN Switch-Off affect your school?
Any Single Analogue Lines, Multi-Lines, ISDN2 and ISDN30 services will need to transfer to an alternative solution. This upgrade will also impact broadband customers using ADSL and FTTC broadband that is supported by Single Analogue Lines.
The PSTN Switch-Off will also affect alarm systems, lift lines, CCTV, EPOS machines, and premise entry/exit systems.
It’s important to understand the impact of the discontinuation of these services and ensure your school is prepared.

Martyn’s Law
Martyn’s Law, also known as the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act, came into effect on the 3 April 2025. This new act calls for educational establishments to improve their safety measures to cope with a terrorist attack.
